A NEW FORCE IN THE PACKAGING INDUSTRY!

Alexandria, VA – The membership of the National Paperbox Association (NPA) and the membership of the Canadian Paperboard Packaging Association (CPPA) unanimously voted to move forward with a merger of the two organizations at their respective membership meetings on September 22, 2006. The newly formed entity will be named the North American Packaging Association and will represent the membership of the NPA and the membership of the CPPA. The Association will be re-incorporated and plans to officially commence operations on January 1, 2007. NPA Chairman Peter Freund noted, “this was a member driven process that originated from the belief and conviction that one united voice for the North American packaging industry will greatly benefit the membership, the paperboard packaging industry, and the two Associations. We are thrilled with this opportunity to offer stronger member benefits, expanded educational programming and a variety of enhanced marketing opportunities for both industry converters and industry suppliers”. The new Association will represent over 200 leading industry converting and supply plant locations and will be a bigger, stronger and better-positioned organization to address the
